Next up was Queen V, who apparently is hot shit in the local NYC rock scene. Ahem, it was fun and all but not THAT fun. The front woman herself looked like Sandra Bullock gone rock-chick, and could definitely sing but the shtick was somewhat 'blah'. She covered classic rock hits like "Behind Blue Eyes", but mostly played a set of her own material. On guitar was nightlife promoter, Nikki Camp. I always hear this guy is a douchebag but he seems ok to me. He played well and even took over the mic for a few songs. In all, definitely a fun set and a nice local community vibe to the whole show. Sometimes it nice to step away from all touring bands and see what the kids in the backyard are up to.

None More Local...
Headed out to see local rock bands, Ray West and Queen V at Don Hills in NYC last night. Ray West opened up the festivities playing a 40 minute set of his own solo material. He's the dude from Spread Eagle (remember them?), so he's being doing the rock and roll thing for quite a bit. Rays solo stuff is much harder & modern now and he sings with a much more abrasive voice than back in the Spread Eagle days. It's always a fun time seeing Ray, but then again I'm his buddy so even if he wasnt that great I'd probably still toot his horn. toot toot
