It's a birthday daily blog. Happy Birthday to Gunnar H. Thomsen. If you don't recognize that name right away, you are a freak. He is the bassplayer and background vocalist for the Faroese viking metal band Týr!! There are not many bands from the Faroe Islands that have been able to successfully pull of international tours!
The Faroe Islands are an island cluster-thing smack dab in between the Norwegian Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean. They are about half way between Scotland and Iceland. The Faroe Islands are a part of the Kingdom of Denmark, along with Denmark (duh) and Greenland.
