I'm so sad about this news. It was apparently from heart failure. RIP, Pete Steele. He was only 48! Those days of drunken antics at the old Duffs will be missed.
I was crushed by this news, as he was one of my favorite performers and his music always resonated strong in my love of the Metal genre. I wrote up a memorial meets reflection piece which I think you might like, click my name to see it.
Nice article, Ken! It's certainly a big loss to the metal scene, but it's especially a rough blow to NY. He was such massive presence here. Literally and figuratively. :(
Fuck. I'm just real sad. Getting out my old CDs and getting transported back to 8th-10th grade. I kicked myself for not seeing the this fall in Albany (I found out about the show a week later), and now I'm even more sad. Alas, thanks for the awesome memories Peter!
Terrible new. Thank god I saw them when I had the chance.

ReplyDeleteI'm still in shock. I wonder if it was an OD that led to heart failure or past drug use that led to it.
