THOUGHTS: Definitely the pick of the week goes to Darkthrone.  No contest here!  It's just solid, unpretentious black metal!  I'll give a nod to Unleashed and Negura Bunget, too.  Stay away from releases like Upon A Burning Body, Trident,  and Sinbreed.  It wasn't worth my time to check out their stuff on myspace, and it won't be worth yours either.

Friday the 13th brings nothing to metal

Woohooo, it's Friday the 13th.  It seems like we havent had one of these in a long ass time.  Anyway, not  too much new in the world of metal.  It seems like most people are still shitting bricks over the Steven Tyler appearance at the Joe Perry show recently. 

In other much less important news, Darkthrone has said that they are going to re-issue A Blaze In The Northern Sky on vynl.  It should be ready in time for Christmas.  The album came out already 17 years ago!  It makes me feel old.
