The word is out on the new Dave Lomdardo/Casey Chaos/Gary Holt project!

And the word is that Nick Oliveri (the bald dude from Queens Of The Stone Age) is also in this band!!!!
Check out this WONDERFULness:

Word had been brewing that Casey Chaos, Dave Lombardo and Gary Holt joined forces... but  no one knew the details.   Well the word is out -Nick Oliveri (who seems to be doing well for himself lately).  Not only has the oft-embattled bassist made up with his old bandmates in time to contribute to their forthcoming sixth album, he's now been invited to join a thrash metal supergroup dreamed up by producer Ross Robinson (Deftones, Korn, Machine Head).  After mastering the art of facebook-stalking Amen singer Casey Chaos' page,  it became obvious that Exodus axe-slinger Gary Holt, Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo and, yes, Oliveri are in an as-yet unnamed band that began recording together the week before Christmas.

"We've all been in the same room together breathing the same funky man-air!" Holt said, rather awesomely, of their time at Robinson's home studio in Venice, Los Angeles. Metallica's Robert Trujillo visited them while they were recording. "The creative process on this has been phenomenal. I shit you not. If we came in for two weeks of just riff-writing and another two weeks of putting it all together, we'd have an album that would knock people for a loop. They wouldn't know what hit them ... I'm as proud of this stuff as anything I've ever done."

Robinson was inspired to bring the group together after watching Holt on stage with Lombardo, as he was filling in for Slayer guitarist Jeff Hanneman who is recovering from a spider bite that nearly took his arm. Video director Dean Karr (Marilyn Manson, QOTSA, Cypress Hill) and producer Sean E. Demott had approached Robinson about providing music to their upcoming documentary about Pantera singer Phil Anselmo's New Orleans haunted house, House of Shock. In Holt and Lombardo, Robinson saw, "Fire, energy and wisdom."

Holt explained: "Whenever Dave and I would get on deck for soundcheck, we'd go up there first and jam make up stuff every day. It just comes easy for us. We're both into being spontaneous and improvising. We probably have an album's worth of material." He described one of their songs as "a combination of all of our bands with Discharge and the Exploited and GBH on it. Really, really punk. Super crunchy and super brutal ... There's a beat and a riff and Casey starts spewing some venom on top of it. It's awesome!"

Okay!

Members of Exodus, Amen, and Slayer to form new band??

Nothing has been been said yet.... but check out this photo of Ross Robinson (producer), Gary Holt (Exodus), Dave Lombardo (Slayer), and Casey Chaos (Amen) in studio (located somewhere in Venice)....... hmmmmm.....

Casey Chaos posted this picture to his facebook today, and said it was from the 22nd, but yet not a peep about a new side project in the works.   Something is definitely brewing here and I am looking forward to hearing it.

Kreator with Exodus - Nokia Theater, NYC, 04/08/09

Got to the Nokia Theater in Times Square and was greeted by a long line of metalheads (sausagefest levels only reached around 7) waiting outside the venue.  Right over their heads hung huge Kreator and Exodus logos on the billboard.  As me and the roomie filtered inside we learned that 3 of the openers had already played.  Fuck.  Yes, we were late, but not thaaaat late. It seemed like each band must have only played around 15 minutes.

Exodus opened up with 'Bonded by Blood' which I am pretty sure is what they open every show with...ever.  Interesting to see this new vocalist, Ken Dukes, hit the stage.  He's only been with the band the last few years and is very much the new kid in town.  Good energy, stumbled a bit in between songs for banter (although he repeatedly called us all MOTHERFUCKERS & asked us to MAKE A FUCKIN' CIRCLE PIT!!).  The response to his request was rather lackluster to say the least.  A pit existed, but from my view it was just a few big guys stomping  around and flapping their wings.  Some of the better songs from the set were 'A Lesson In Violence' and 'Toxic Waltz' which got the crowd pretty stirred up.

After Exodus' throwback to the late 1980s, Kreator hit the stage with their latest single 'Hordes Of Chaos'.  We were only brought back into modern times temporarily... right before reverting back to cassette tape days again with tunes like 'Extreme Aggression', 'Riot' Of Violence' and 'Pleasure to Kill'.  Crazy lights going on throughout the show, but again the pit was the same few guys from Exodus and didn't pick up too much.  Still it was a good show, and Miland sang the crap out of the songs.  The sound at Nokia is always pretty good but sometimes his vocals were almost toooo piercing.  The concluded their set with a 4 song encore and closed out the night with the classic 'Tormentor'.
