Metal and Rainbow flags! ::snap::

Today is the Gay Pride Parade in Manhattan, and you can bet you sugar and candy-coated ass that I will be there! Lets support and holla out to some of or kings and queens in the metal genre.

Obvious- Rob Halford: This man is so metal that that when he dies they are melting him down and using him for autobody parts.

Joan Jett: The woman can play guitar, sing, act, and shack up with Carmen Electra. Well done, lesbian sista.

Gaahl: He gets credit for being the first opening gay man in Black metal. Trust me though, he is not the only.

Marcie Free: Marcie Free used to be Mark from until he became a she.  As King Kobra's former lead singer, I would say she is one the more famous transgendered folk out there.

Phil Anselmo: He may currently be dating his Pippi Longstocking look-alike assistant, but back in his younger years Phil was notorious for shining the rusty trombone.

My gay brothas in music unite!

Two of my favorite vocalists in music met this past Friday at the GLAAD Media Awards- Adam Lambert (greatness) and Rob Halford (God Himself).  If anyone can locate these photos in full size I will sell you my first born.

Halford will destroy you.

Two of my favorite things in one nice package- metal and horror movies.  Recently Halford talked to Bloody-Disgusting.com about his favorite 11 horror movies.

1. The Shining
2. The Exorcist
3. Nosferatu
4. Carnival of Souls
5. White Zombie
6. The Terror
7. The Hunchback of Notre Dame
8. The Amazing Mr. X
9. Phantom from 10,000 Leagues
10. The Brain that Wouldn't Die
11. The Giant Helomonster

I dont know how it's possible, but this list does seem very Halford-ish.  ....and I gotta agree with The Terror!

Who's older?

Normally the 'birthday posts' really aren't that thrilling, but we have 2 MASSIVE birthdays today and 2 mildy entertaining ones.  First off, the two lesser ones (not that lame, but come on, now):  Vivian Campbell (famous for guitars in Def Leppard, but was in Dio and Whitesnake, too) and Spider One who is famous for being Rob Zombie's brother Powerman 5000.   Well, as you could probably guess, Vivian is the older of the two- he's 47 today and Spider is 41 (Rob Zombie is 44 just for reference).

NOW... the two biggies: ROB HALFORD and GENE SIMMONS!  Here is the interesting part.... Guess who is older?   Do you have your guess?  (I was wrong)

Ok, the answer: Gene Simmons is older than Rob Halford by 2 years.   Today Gene turns 60, whilst Halford is a young spry 58.
