FUCK YES!!!

Finally I have a legitimate reason to yack away about Adam Lambert.  This weekend in Auckland, New Zealand Mr. Lambert blessed the audience with this fabulous cover of Metallica's "Enter Sandman".
Apparently he played the cover in honor or his bassist's birthday that night.  I like!

Cinco De Mayo calls for some Meh-hee-can metal

Well it's Cinco de Mayo in Mexico today, or for us here in the US of A it's simply Cinco de Drinko.  Let's honor our Mexicano bruthas by drinking some tequila and blasting these guys:

Brujeria  (Thrashy something-core band who like to sing about killing whiteys although they are half white)

TransMetal (Thrash/Death mix)

Balam Akab (Death/Black metal)

Metallica for having Robert Trujillo on bass.  He's American born, but his parents are straight from Mexico City.

That guy Reb Beach from Winger says Kirk Hammet SUCKS.

This is such a beautiful quote from Reb Beach  (Winger, Whitesnake, Dokken, Alice Cooper, Night Ranger) that I have to recognize it.

"I don't know the guy [Kirk], but I think he's one of the worst guitar players I've ever heard in my life. I've never heard a solo from that guy that was any good. . . This guy is out of tune, and his vibration... what is it? Vibrato. Oh my god. It sounds like a beginner."

He continued, "Back in the '80s, he was always voted best guitar player, and I'm like, 'What?! That guy is terrible.'

"I hate to say that because I might meet him one day.

"What's he play in? MEGADETH? METALLICA? Is he in METALLICA? Oh, then I have no problem doing that because in their biggest video, 'Nothing Else Matters', when they threw darts at a poster of Kip Winger, and then they showed it live — 20,000 people every night laughing at WINGER — I don't mind saying that Kirk Hammett sucks."

I wouldn't say Kirk is the worst in the world (he's better than CC Deville at least), but I would certainly say Reb Beach is better.  A lot better actually.  And the fact that Reb pointed this out is pretty awesome.
And may I add that Reb Beach is one of the quirkiest and strangest little stoners I have ever met.

An Unnecessary cover is actually good

Everyone in their right mind knows Metallica's 'And Nothing Else Matters'.  Well, now this Dutch violinist known as Karianne Brouwer covered the song.  I actually think it's pretty awesome, despite the fact that Metallica does not need another one of their songs covered.

23 years ago today the Metallica bus fell over and Cliff Burton went squish.  RIP, bass bro.

Big shows comin' up...

So many concerts in NYC lately that I need to post pictures and reviews from, so expect a big update in the next few days.

For now embrace the fact that there is are two potentially epic concerts coming up.
The highly rumored "Big Four" of thrash tour (for the retards out there, that's Slayer, Metallica, Megadeth and Anthrax [although I think Testament should take Anthraxs spot in that title]). This tour would be a metal head dream come true. It would be crazy to see Megadave open for Metallica. Seems unreal.
