Shining were scheduled to open on the upcoming Behemoth tour (playing Jan. 30th @ Starland In NJ, and the 31st @ The Crazy Donkey in Long Island), but have released the following statement:
LAST MINUTE US VISA PROBLEMS FORCE SHINING OFF NORTH AMERICAN TOUR
We are very sorry to have to announce that despite all the hard work and effort of everyone involved in the organisation of the North American tour in January, SHINING will not be able to travel to the US/Canada because of some last minute visa problems that have arisen.
We are very disappointed by this, and we will do our best to get over as soon as we can.
This sucks.... There was a lot of speculation that this was going to happen. It seems that the new openers are: Devildriver, Goatwhore, Suffocation and Thy Will Be Done.
In light of Goatwhore's new album Carving Out The Eyes of God, which comes out tomorrow and kicks ass I am proud to now say 'ta-da!' They are the next band of the week! These guys formed in 1997, but solidified an only-slightly-changing lineup in 2000, the same year of their first release, The Eclipse Of Ages Into Black. Since then they have steadily put out one album every three years. So, seeing as the last album came out in 2006 they are following the formula perfectly.
