Some followup on Evile's Mike Alexander

A month ago I was sad to announce the death of Evile's bassist, Mike Alexander.  The tests have come back and it turns out that what he died of was a pulmonary embolism, a blockage of an artery in the lung.  Really sad, and unpredictable when something like that happens.  Below is an audio interview with the rest of the band, the first time they have spoken about Mike's death publicly.

Evile also plans to play two shows in the UK as a memorial to Mike.  All the profits will go to Mike's family (he was a father).  A bunch of bands including Hirax, Exodus, and Overkill have donated gifts that will be raffled out at the shows in support of Mike.
Dec. 07 - Leeds, UK - Rio's
Dec. 08 - London, UK - Underworld

RIP to Evile's bassist, Mike Alexander

I hate RIP posts, but this one is especially sad because it just happened today, and to a young guy.  Mike Alexander, bassist for Evile died today at 32 after being rushed to a hospital feeling ill.  Judging from Mikes past this does not seem drug related, and most likely was a freak blood clot or something.  I am no doctor, but it sounded like it happened really quick.  So sad, just three weeks ago I announced Evile as band of the week.  They made a big splash with their last album and it's sad that Mike won't be around for their future.

Evile deserve more credit!

Well, it's been a week since Evile's Infected Nations has been out and the numbers are in.  They sold about 460 albums in the USA.  The crazy part is that this is not horrible.  But, I mean, it is horrible.

Here, I am even going to include a playlist of Evile's debut album for your listening pleasure.  You can also listen to it on their myspace page:

New Band of the Week - Evile!!

This week's band is very 'me'.  You got it- thrashin', fast, long haired and influenced by old farts the greats.  Evile are young, but not super new, although they are definitely making their mark now.  If Testament were to come out now, it might be Evile.  Check out their latest album, Infected Nations- it's fucking solid.
