Joe Perry has a friend show up at his gig last night in NYC

Mother fucker!  I go to every show in NYC under the sun, but decided to take a night off from seeing Joe Perry last night at Irving Plaza.... Well, of course you can guess what happened- Steven Tyler showed up and let it be known that he is still in Aerosmith and the rumors of them parting ways are BS.   This is great news, since Aerosmith without Tyler sounds about as bizarre are Alice In Chains without Layne Staley (oh wait...).   Anyway, for all us sorry saps who missed the chance to see Perry and Tyler play to under 2000 people here is so lovely youtube-age of "Walk This Way".

I gotta say though- I recently saw Joe Perry and he definitely flirted with the idea that Steven and Aeromsith were ready to go their seperate ways.  Between all the drugs and drinking 'injuries' with Steven lately and Joe's bum hip (he had the most rock n roll looking cane I have ever seen) it seemed like things were going to combust.  We'll see.......   I can't really think of any other bands from their era that still have the original lineups, so keeping Aerosmith together as a whole all this time really is a big deal.  I think ZZ Top is still original..... Poison is back to their original, but they had some changes throughout the years and formed later; same with Crue.  Hmmm, Rush technically isnt the original since Peart actually came in later.  Shit, I can hardly think of any 70s bands still hangin' in there.  Can you?

  2. Oh come on, man! Iron Maiden? Remember Paul Di'Anno?? Bruce may be the best replacement singer of all time, but Killers is still a killer album! And the self titled one didnt exactly suck either.

As for Priest, they are pretty damn close to their original lineup, but they have a new drummer now that their original went all Pedo on them. They had to get rid of his horny ass back in the 80s. Keep tryin'!
